XBL - XENTAURIX BROADCAST LOGGER STANDARD

Further information

Fact sheet

The XBL-Broadcast Logger Type Standard is used as a network-compatible multimedia recorder for broadcast confirmation, live broadcast recording service, and VoD production. It is very user-friendly, well-arranged and can be operated intuitively.

Scalable, multi-functional system

XBL-Broadcast-Logger Standard ConfigurationDepending on its configuration, the stand-alone device can digitally record up to 8 TV and radio stations at different levels of quality and over periods of time ranging from 10 to 180 days or even more (loop recording). The XBL Logger uses WM9 or VC-1 codec and enables recordings with small storage requirements yet excellent video and audio quality. Moreover, artec technologies’ patented CVOD technology enables network-based, time-shifted playback as well as a metadata search function. Live display, search, playback and administration all take place through the standard Internet Explorer without any need for plug-ins or Active-X.

Multi-functional

The XBL Standard Logger combines encoder, recorder, user and content management, database and web server in one device. In the basic system the device is equipped with mirrored hard drives and a total hard-drive capacity of 1 TB. Through storage upgrades, the logger can be expanded up to 8 TB (RAID5). The recording quality and bandwidth are variable for each channel individually, from CIF to D1.

Generating video clips

XBL-Broadcast-Logger Creating Video ClipsVideo clips can be generated very easily with the XBL Player. In addition to the WM9 format the clips are also convertible to flash, Quicktime or 3G using additional plug-ins. For live broadcast recording or long-term archiving services, a complete production or archiving system with CD/DVD robots can be provided. The logger can be enhanced to record metadata such as EPG, as-runlogs, subtitles, and bookmarks. With the text-based search functions broadcasts can be targeted and played back immediately after entering keywords. The XBL layout can easily be customized.

Upgradeable

In the standard version, the system provides the languages G, GB. Additional languages and font characters can easily be adapted with the language editor. In the basic hardware configuration, the logger provides analog video and audio inputs. Inputs such as SDI SD/HD, DVB-S/C/T, FM/AM Radioreceivers or RGB are optionally available. With its numerous additional options, the XBL logger is extremely powerful and, accordingly, can be optimally adapted to the needs of the customers.

Since 2001 XBL – Broadcast Logger Systems have internationally established themselves as highly reliable, network-compatible recording system.
