For broadcasters, businesses, and institutions which wish to create their own online media center with full-text search, the XBL-Broadcast Logger System is the optimal solution. While conventional media centers can only search and play back videos with EPG data, the XBL-based online media center provides considerably more playback possibilities and search options.
Media Center with timeshifted long-term archive and VoD
Via the XBL media center, specific broadcasts can be called up as video clips. On the other hand, in combination with 24/7 recording, all transmitted programs can be replayed in the timeshift mode. Furthermore, through Silverlight, the XBL-based online media center offers ingenuously simple, interactive operation. With multibit-streaming, video streams can be called up anywhere, even via limited bandwidth.
Integrated search engine
If customer-specified TV channels are recorded around the clock, program broadcasts do not get lost. Through search options such as EPG, subtitles, or speech-recognition texts, targeted searches of the broadcasts can then be carried out, edited, and stored as clips with bookmarks/ commentaries. The clips – as well as timeshifted broadcasts – can be called up via LAN/WAN/Internet. These can be made available in diverse target formats such as Flash, H.264, WMV, and 3G.
Optimal applications for specific areas of interest
The online media center is particularly interesting for those areas (e.g. medicine, travel, fashion, science, politics, ongoing education, finances, etc.) which wish or need to document and evaluate TV broadcasts. Since the XBL system can record for long periods of time (months or even years), an uninterrupted database with retroactive research of thousands of TV hours can be realized. Through Silverlight plug-ins, common Windows and Mac browsers are supported.
User-friendly GUI
The logger system is based on Windows Silverlight. This modern interface enables ingenuously user-friendly, interactive operation in an impressive design with user-defined interfaces. Further, with Silverlight plug-ins, it supports common browsers for both Windows and Mac systems. Please find additional information on the new XBL-Silverlight Edition.
