Webcasting in networks

You would like to transfer interactive product presentations, services and support, workshops, seminars, lectures and other events of all kinds within a closed network or via the internet – and do all of that either live or on demand.
Solution
With the Webcast Manager, you can combine objects as diverse as the live moderation of video and audio sources, desktop displays and chats on one platform. Metadata can be added to individual segments of presentations or lectures. Companies can utilize the Webcast Manager to present their products, provide their services and support, and make additional or ongoing training and education available. New didactic strategies can be implemented, for example to store internal processes and expertise in a customized database. Learning and information platforms are created which can be used directly at the workplace. Over and above all of this, the Webcast Manager is an ideal E-learning platform which is ideal for advanced training institutes or seminars which wish to use this solution for their course and curriculum offerings. The capability to archive events means that a comprehensive archive of knowledge and information can be created which can be combined with a fee-billing system whenever desired.
With the Webcast Manager, live video and audio sources as well as the desktop of a PC or a whiteboard can be streamed – simultaneously when desired. The live display is provided by a standard browser without plug-ins or, as an alternative, via set-top boxes. Our patented CVoD technology means that participants can manage contents even as it is being transmitted. Or, they can call up a broadcast at a later date. Time-shifted playback can be stopped, paused, rewound or fast forwarded at any time. The users can also set individual bookmarks if they wish to edit or target specific contents for later access.
Your advantages
- Simple to operate
- Live transmission and recording
- Based on Windows media. Access via a standard browser without plug-ins or via set-top boxes
- Integrated media archive for creating a knowledge database
- Adaptable DVD production system
Operation with set-top box: If you want to provide your customers with E-Learning as a closed transmission platform without them depending on a PC for display, set-top boxes with full functionality via remote control are available.
Implementation
Implementation of the application takes place through the XAS application server. The server contains all the modules needed to implement an individual streaming media/IPTV solution for several hundred parallel streams in an intranet or on the Internet. For the setup of highly frequented Internet platforms, we recommend utilizing X-Media servers or the integration of XAS into an existing broadband media network with allocated streaming media and cashing servers and load balancing systems. Artec technologies inc has direct access to Europe's largest content delivery network and offers you run-ready solutions - also in the form of hosted applications in our MDSC (media data and service center) in Dresden.
