The WMR-DVB Broadcast Encoders receive, demodulate, multiplex, decode and encode satellite TV/radio transmissions and broadcast these without loss as WMV9/VC-1 Windows Media Streams in networks and the Internet. Live display and function check are done via standard web browsers or, as an option, by the set-top box X230 with remote control.

Depending on the model, the WMR-DVB Broadcast Encoder includes one or two DVB aerial inputs. The DVB tuners are integrated into the unit and can be remotely configured by web browser.

Several or entire WMR-DBV Broadcast Encoder farms can be remotely controlled and administered via the XAS Application Server. Over and above that, the XAS Application Server also provides multi-cast operation.

With the selection of high quality, industrialist components and special monitoring software, the WMR Broadcast Encoders are designed for maximum performance and operational reliability.

ERC (Encoder Remote Control)

The WMR-DVB Broadcast Encoders come equipped with Encoder Remote Control (ERC) software, which enables the remote configuration and control of the software functions.

Through software modules, the WMR-DVB Broadcast Encoder can be enhanced:

• Logo and time/date blend in
• Signal instability and outage recognition as well as error notification
• MultiViewer for remote control monitoring via low bandwidth MPEG-4 streams
• Set-top box X230 for direct live display of the streams on TV monitors, with remote control
• XAS Application Server: Multi-cast operation for hundreds of participants simultaneously, central encoder remote control and configuration of several WMR Boadcast Enocer/Encoder farms
• Recording and playing the streams
