The ST-Box X230 provides you with a run-ready query station for interactively polling and displaying television, radio, films, video clips as well as CCTV cameras via Internet or LAN.  Display is made via standard VGA, TFT, plasma monitors or television receivers through the set-top box’s back-side plug-ins. In combination with the remote control and the on-screen dialog, operation of the set-top box is easy to follow, simple and effortless. The set-top box functionalities are tuned to the XentauriX system. In addition to the live display of TV and radio stations, they provide our patented CVoD function: even during a TV broadcast, a time-shifted playback (via network) can be done without having to start an internal recording function. The XentauriX system takes care of that for you. TV stations can be recorded for weeks or even months, so that you never miss out on anything. During live viewing or playback, you can add your individual bookmarks with comments.

Recording

Search functions

With the integrated search engine, relevant TV broadcasts from one or all the available stations can be found by typing in key words. The search is conducted through metadata, i.e. EPG data, subtitles or bookmarks.

Archiving and producing

With the remote control or by keyboard (optionally also by Jog Shuttle), clips can be edited, stored and/or archived. The recording format of the clips is the ultra-modern WM9/VC-1 which can be played back on any Windows PC. Optionally, clips can also be transcoded in MPEG2 and, for example, burned directly onto a DVD.

Image quality

This depends on the configured transmission band width; e.g. 1 Mbps VHS quality; 2 Mbps DVD quality; 6 Mbps HD quality.

User authorization

Individual rights can be allocated to all users, e.g. for  playback, creating clips, inserting bookmarks etc.

Options

In conjunction with the ST Box X230, the XentauriX platform can provide additional services such as

• Other formats: creating clips in formats such as MPEG4, H.264 or 3G. 
• Logos and time codes: Fade in logos or time codes into a running TV broadcast 
• Speech to text conversion with direct blend-in into a running TV broadcast, as well as automatic translation into other languages (e.g. Arabian - English) not to mention storage and search functions 
• VoD films and videos can be made available for call up via the XentauriX platform 
• Radio, internet-radio transmitters or radio transmitters can be transmitted, selected, called up and/or optionally logged
• Video surveillance: video cameras or panorama cameras can be displayed in the monitor via remote control, for example, in a multi-screen or full-screen image(e.g. for entrance surveillance or panorama images). The system can also be coupled to existing video surveillance systems which are available via a network and/or the Internet.
